ok if anyones heard of the
Hadron collider plz tell me if its a joke
this guy is no actually HAS made a big machine that has been tested once and is being used on september 11
read read that
and then it collides millions of particles per second wich is said to create a mini big bang
all this is to 'unlock' science and how the universe was made
now the bad thing
this could create a black hole wich destroys the earth and then the universe
plz anyone help me stop being paranoid
or tell me this is a joke....plz
i dont want to die......

from what i understand, the particle accelerator cannot create a black hole. black holes are believed to be created when a star collapses and the remaining mass becomes super-dense. therefore, in order for ANYTHING to create a black hole, you have to start out with something that contains as much mass as a star much larger than our sun.

The particle accelerator merely sends atoms and molecules hurtling at each other at 70% or higher of the speed of light. the scientists are trying to literally tear the atoms apart and see what they are made of and how they behave at higher speeds.

you have nothing to fear :)

There are two giant atom smashers that they are trying to use to get an idea on how the universe started on a super-tiny scale. The worst thing that could possibly happen is a pipe leaking. That's it, no black holes can be generated without a collapsed star.
Aw, it's too bad my signature is broken. :(

Hmmm if more natural disasters, (like all the hurricanes) keep arising im pointing my finger at the ATOM SMASHER!!!!!!!!!! :O o_O

That's not true. This thing is actually capable of producing a black hole. However, it will be a tiny black hole and it would die before it could even do anything. There is the possibility of a mini black hole, but no danger of it screwing up the earth.

as soon as a black hole of any size is made it sucks in ANYTHING around it to make it grow even if its just dust

Also not true. Black holes don't really affect gravitational fields outside of their own event horizons.

it has been hypothesized that micro-wormholes/black holes open and close all around us and at random throughout the universe without any real effect on us.

the only thing capable of creating a black hole on the size you are thinking would be super massive star goes supernova and collapses on itself.
its also worth noting that scientists think that there is one such back hole in the center of our galaxy.

Hence the spiral shape of our galaxy. B-)

Except the galaxy is expanding, right? So if a black hole sucks things towards it, why is the galaxy expanding despite this gravitational force?
