Thanks for that Ocarinar. I did some formating on the wiki page.

The images needs to be uploaded to the wiki so that they could be used in the wiki page. But I don't know how to do that, and I'm going to redo some of the images (perhaps all) anyway, so if those current ones are uploaded to the wiki they need to be uploaded again when I'm done the new ones.

I decided to be lazy so I don't bother to redo the images, at least not for now. I did edit the images a bit to make them look slightly better.

I uploaded the images to the wiki so the wiki page has the images now too.

Well, it depends on the tempo I guess. If you have a slow song you would naturally play the whole notes (and all the other notes for that matter) slower. And you would play em faster for a more up-beat song.
So, if you know the general beat of a song, its easier to figure out how long you should play a note.

so if the tempo is 6/8 then its a fast song right

I think 6/8 is how many beats there are in a measure

This may help

6/8 is not tempo, it's time signature. Tempo and time signature are things you can ignore. Just listen to the song you want to play and then play the song with equal speed.

LinkDaphanes wrote:im still confused XD a note lasts 1 second and then u just make the notes shorter??

The idea is that you use one note as a reference of how long to play all the other notes. You could for example pick up the first note of a song as the reference note. So if the first note is 1/4-note, you play each 1/4-note equally long as you played that first note. Then you play each 1/8-notes half as long as you play those 1/4-notes, and each 1/2-notes twice as long as you play those 1/4-notes and so on so worth.

It's all mathematics (I don't know if this helps or confuses more):
1/4 + 1/4 = 2/4 = 1/2 (quarter + quarter = half)
1/8 + 1/8 = 2/8 = 1/4 (one eigth + one eigth = quarter)

First of all this guide is great.... Very helpful.

Second of all, do you have a better more clear image of the 12 hole ocarinas fingering charts? :ocarina: Maybe its just me, but i find it difficult to read.
