Um ... I think it depends on your musical experience. People who have none whatsoever might find the pendant easier. People who read music or have a good muiscal ear might find a transverse easier. If you do not have flexible pinkies, I recommend the pendant. If you like ergonomic game controllers, I would recommend a transverse over an inline.

The difference is minimal enough to be a matter of opinion.

The beauty of ocarinas is that they're so easy to play for everyone, almost regardless of which type you like :) I'm terrible at reading music, and not very musical in general, yet after a few days of learning the fingerings on my first ocarina, a 12H s.p., I was able to pick up songs by ear! And visual tabs are a great too :)

They are probably the easiest instrument to play :) apart from maybe piano :P But you can learn basic songs very quickly! So awesome...
