New mountain-ocarina related discussion board.

I just received in their mailing list the new that they just put a new forum online. That should be mostly related (pretty obviously) to the ocarinas they produce.
Since MO are pretty unique in respect to ocarinas in general, I think it makes sense. Perhaps that would be a nice place for MO lovers to gather and compare opinions and tips; since I feel like MO owners and players are pretty sparse here and in other resources.

I wonder at the benefits and limitations of a forum run and managed by an ocarina manufacturer.

I think I can see them pretty clearly:

Benefits: users of the forum can focus on those specific products. Mountain ocarinas make TWO models after all; the G and the C. They are distinct from every other ocarina as far as I known. So, one can ask about difficult passages in this and that tune with the MO, talk about tips and tricks, and the like.
Limitations: of course, that would only be for those ocarinas. :-D

Oh, I can imagine more possibilities than that.
I think I'll wait and see which ones pan out.

I am cautious, but have heard mostly good things about the company.

I can see it being a great instructional forum and social support group on the light side.
On the dark side, I can see great potential for bias and control of 'negative' commentary.

I am reassured having only heard positive things about Mountain as a company,
but do not know who they will have moderate the forum currently or in the future.

Good moderation makes so much difference in the mood and the function of a forum.

I see.
Actually, up to now, they showed up very kind, and very transparent. They answered clearly to all critics, stating clearing the current limitations of the company at this time and in the past. I like them very much. Go check it if you want to have a feeling of what I'm talking about.
