Hi... I was wondering if there was going to be a Group Song for January or if November was going to be the very last one???
I'm new to this forum and am not familiar with all the songs that have already been posted...
I think that it would be awesome if we could continue to make group songs so that we could further our ocarina skills...

But that is just my opinion...

This month's featured song is Nausicaa's Requiem.

I'm trying to figure out weather or not to do more because we have had virtually zero participation in the last 4 or so...

that bad huh? Well... it could be that they were either busy with the holidays or some of them couldn't figure out the tones if they were listening to the song by ear...

I'm sure that if we start doing them again people will join in... and if they dont, .... well.. its good practice and awareness for others if we can show them what the ocarina can really do...

I think it is partly because member activity is almost zero here.

There is also the general polling, which is tricky. I should know. All members could vote but not all members make videos.
The results where song that people wanted to hear played, and not what people who make videos wanted to play.

I spent weeks trying to create tabs for This Is Halloween but failed due to the nature of the music and the resources available.
I chose a much easier song for the October challenge and got some interest, which nobody replied here at all.

That is the problem with the group challenges.
You have to fend for yourself for tabs and sheet music.

We are also trying to get more staff involved with the TV Challenges.
Having visible leadership seems to be helping a lot with participation.

Gotcha... I took a look at the Requiem and it seems just a little complicated for my abilities right now...
What are the nominees for the next song?

I made a video response to Moonsyne's VC, Nausicaa's Requiem. I mostly knew it due to watching the movie a few times. Mr. Miyazaki is an amazing film maker.

Well, I would hate for such a cool thing as these group songs to die out! I plan on learning them all and posting a vid for each one! I hope that we continue to do them, because it is a great idea, and it is fun to. Plus, it furthers awareness about ocarinas!
