I second the Spencer comment. Much rather have a Spencer than an official Nintendo replica. There may have been only 1000 made, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are the best ones.

Ok let's be honest......you can look at a zelda ocarina in different ways, one is whether or not it "looks" like the ocarina in the game (color, shapre etc) and the second is how it will plau musically. Now comparing this to a spencer for instance, I am pretty sure, though not having one, that the nintendo version would have a hard time meeting the spencer in that regard. Second and more importantly, I find it looks cheap. The shape is wrong, the triforce band looks really cheap, just painted on. almost like it was a sticker. The spencer, the metal band looks like metal, it is raised. I feel it captures the seesnce of what a zelda ocarina of time should look like more so than this cheesy nintendo version that is clearly way overpriced. Nintendo is probably doing this because of the 10 years anniversary.

I consider myself a serious zelda fan, or even freak and well, like many of you, I am sure, I'm a purist. The ocarina of time, if it existed, would be a musical instrument crafted by sages or through magic and passed down through the royal family..... now of the spencer and the nintendo version, which do you think fits that bill better? ;)

If bothers me that the official ocarina is only blue on the top. The bottom is not painted.

This thing is $1,500 and it looks okay but the hole patters is very awkward. No offence to the maker of this, but the ocarinas i make look better than this...... also its because the ocarinas i make look like Speners ocarinas. But the people i sell them to like them. (cant find them on ther internet because i only sell to people at my school) But this ocarina still looks prettty cool.
