Double Ocarina techniques. (its a question, not a technique)

Postby penirfish on Wed Apr 08, 2009 3:52 pm

So I just got my beautiful focalink double ocarina tuned to an alto C, and i'm getting the basics, but I need a little help here.
Whats the best way to transition notes from the lower chamber to notes from the higher chamber quickly. For that matter, if anybody just has any good double ocarina techniques in general, help a fellow ocarinateer out

^ haven't uploaded anything since my first ocarina, and my webcams broken, but feel free to check out some old stuff

Lots of practice. It really is that simple, I'm sorry to say that there isn't much else that you can really do to get better at it.

Do you wet the mouthpiece (with saliva) when you play? This lets you slide your mouth back and fourth easily between chambers.
But other than that, practice is all it takes if you are simply referring to familiarity with the double. I had the same problem when I first got my Double Alto C. Now I dont even think about it.
