First of all, right now the Yen rate is about 100Yen to the Dollar, so about $15 for Chrono Trigger and just over $20 for FF7. Bic Camera's website is www.biccamera.co.jp and you should be able to find these at www.amazon.co.jp. However, you must either be running on a modified PS1 of PS2 to play (or actually have a Japanese console) because the game are region coded. In other words, on an out-of-the-box PS1 bought in the US, these would not play. And yes, they would be in Japanese. To complex for me to play (though many of my co-worker's children can probably play it)

Final Fantasy doesn't revolve around an insane blond emo wielding a sword he can't keep for 2 seconds, and a gifted girl with back problems. The truth is in the revolting movie advent children, and while we're on the topic Final Fantasy the spirits within shouldn't even be called a final fantasy! The truth about FF7 is the only reason people like it is because the graphics, music, and choppy plot. The only thing I remember about that game is Aerith dying. I've made my point! OH and only the original SNES chrono trigger by the by.

Wow, uh you must really like this game then huh? Well, it just so happens I have played through it recently and traded it in. And to sum it up I still dislike it, I don't care what you say I just don't like th game. We're all intitled to our own opinions aren't we? Still that doesn't make them true though, you have your I have mine. I don't like it and appartently you do.reev0 wrote:GamingMad wrote:I stand by what I said!! First of all, none of the original members of the Final Fantasy 7 team had anything to do with any of the FF7 content released since the original game. It was made by different people to make money. Don't look at those when you say "Final Fantasy VII sucked." By all means say "Dirge of Ceberos sucked" or "Advent Children was a joke" because they do have their own title. They are tied to Final Fantasy VII by characters only. It is no different than all the Star Wars books and games out there. That doesn't qualify anyone so say "Star Wars suck" unless you are referring to the movies, since those are the only things created by George Lucas.
Secondly, people enjoyed the game for several reasons, but the graphics were seldom one of them. The graphics were so bad, people didn't even have faces or hands. They were atrocious. The music was great and the story was emersing. If you don't remember the story then you really can't comment on how good or bad it is, now can you? It's amazing how it progresses from Cloud trying to stop an evil corporation (because he's being paid) to eventually trying to save the world. Few other games can do that and not go "over-the-top." FF7 pulled it off so well, it has actually been referred to as "the first games whose story didn't simply emulate theatrical movies, but actually surpassed it" (GameTrailer's Final Fantasy Retrospective). Also, the customization (using materia) is something that has been demanded by fans to return (and finally has in Crisis Core) because it was one of the most free and diverse systems in the Final Fantasy series. You seriously need to play through it again so you remember how the game functioned and what the plot is. A few hours won't cut it, since that is scratching the surface of the game. The game was designed to be around 60 hours to beat and it's going to take most of that to learn the entire plot (and preferably the ending) and get enough materia to find some of the insane materia combos, which made the gameplay so good. Until you do that, you really don't have a leg to stand on.
Also, what you are doing would be identical to me bashing ChronoTrigger, despite not playing it for over a decade, and justifying my complaints with ChronoCrusaide and ChronoCross. Just because it's the same universe, doesn't make it the same game. Each Final Fantasy games is in it's own universe/reality so none ever overlap or interact. The reason why Crisis Core, Advent Children, Last Order, Before Crisis, and Dirge of Ceberos all have Final Fantasy VII in the title is to make sure people know which Final Fantasy universe the game/show takes place in.
